I was born and raised in Durham, NC and still reside there, along with my second home at Kerr Lake, Clarksville, VA. My wife and I have been married 59 years, have one daughter and one grand-daughter. I retired from IBM Procurement in the year 2000.
Growing up, I have always loved to dance (Fast Dancing) and in 1987 began Shagging. The love of the music caused me to pursue DJ-ing. In 2004, I began to DJ for private parties and special events for Shag clubs from Georgia to Virginia, which led me to join ABSCDJ in 2011. Presently DJ-ing for 35+ Shag and Beach Clubs all over the Southeast. Through the years of doing what I enjoyed to several accomplishments, Shagging Icon Award 2001 and Richard Nixon Award in 1989 and the Fabulous Jelly Rolls, that wrote and released music from 1998 to 2020.
To this day, one of my greatest pleasures is a packed dance floor.

From a young age, I was always a big fan of the oldies. The older I got, the more I listened. In my quest to find more and more of “the greatest music on earth”, I discovered my love for soul/beach music came across some airchecks of fantastic DJ’s on radio stations such as CKLW, WABC, WLS, WKBW and a bunch of others — and that was it. I knew I wanted to be able to play this music that I loved, and bring great high energy back to radio!

Hello Friends,I am Danny Kimrey, born and raised In Albemarle N.C. and now live in Murrells Inlet S.C. May I tell you just a little about myself.Perhaps My love of music started as it did for you. While growing up I listened to the radio as much as I could and the music of the 60’s was my passion.I can remember going to the local radio station and was amassed to watch the DJ work his magic.My first experience in radio was doing play by play for American Legion baseball in Albemarle during the 2006 season.From 2007 -2015 I hosted my first radio Show , Danny’s Beach & Boogie Blue on WZKY in Albemarle N.C.2016 I did the Saturday Morning Wake-Up show on WLWL In Rockingham N.C. until 2018Now I am happy to be on Jukin Oldies with my Brother & Sister DJs playing The Greatest Music On Earth
